Performance is an essential ingredient in piano lessons. It develops the positive cycle
of quality practice, success, and self-confidence. Performance provides the motivation to
strive towards one’s highest potential.

Pupils are encouraged to perform for family, friends, as well as church or temple.
School gives pupils an excellent chance to share their music with friends and teachers.
PREPARATION FOR THE SPRING EVENTS
Regular lesson attendance is necessary to develop skills, build confidence, and maintain a positive attitude. Pupils are expected to come to their lessons prepared. Successful and rewarding music study depends on consistent quality daily practice.

To help develop self-discipline and good work habits, it is suggested that a regular time for practice be set aside each day. Pupils are expected to practice their assignment daily as directed by the teacher. If practice requirements have not been met for the week, then the instructor will decide what material will be used during the lesson.
OMTA STUDENT MUSIC FESTIVAL
This festival is open to students of instruments and voice. There is a separate division for adult performers. The festival is non-competitive and should not be confused with the auditions. The Fall Music Festival is held at Cleveland State University and the Spring Festival takes place at Baldwin Wallace College.

Qualified judges will give each performer an evaluation, certificate and ribbon. Memorization is optional, but a separate music score must be provided for the judge; music scores will be returned to the student. Photocopies of music are not permitted unless they comply with U.S. Copyright Law. For additional information please contact your instructor or visit www.omta.org
